A SIMPLE BEGINNING
100+ Women Who Care started in November 2006 as a brilliantly simple way to raise money efficiently and quickly for local charities. Karen Dunigan of Jackson, Michigan and her group of 100 women, at their first one-hour meeting, each wrote a check for $100 directly to the charity, raising $10,000 to buy 300 new baby cribs for an organization in their city. Since then, they have grown to over 200 members and Women Who Care chapters are forming all over North America. These groups have collectively donated more than $1 million to locally based organizations.
Women Who Care of the 618
Women Who Care of the 618 was founded by Denise Arendell and several of her closest friends and community allies in the summer of 2019. We are a group of women who came together, like others that paved the way, to increase the impact of giving. We are ordinary people helping others who do extraordinary things. Our mission is to use the power of collective giving to make a big difference in our very own community. Simple concept, huge impact.
